Xiaomi Released First Android Oreo-Based Global Beta For Mi6

Xiaomi has just announced the release of MIUI 9 v8.1.11 Global Beta ROM for the Mi 6 that is based on Android Oreo.

To install the Oreo-based Beta ROM, users will first be required to upgrade their Mi 6 devices to MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM v7.12.14, based on Android Nougat using a recovery flashable zip. After that, users will get a notification for an OTA update to the aforementioned Android Oreo-based ROM. Currently, the ROM is in beta stage only, and while installation has reportedly been successful, there are reports of localization issues in the ROM. As of now, there is no word on the estimated date for the stable release of the ROM.
